My Story

I am a psychologist, and I love what I do. I don’t have all of life figured out and I definitely don’t have all the answers (nobody does), but I am willing to admit that I am human, and I think that is what makes me relatable and real. I know what it's like to sob in my shower, to scream in frustration, to binge an entire season of a show and eat a pint of ice cream because sometimes life just feels like too much. I work in this field because I know what it's like to navigate the highs and lows of life.

My approach is based in integrative therapy, which is a progressive form of psychotherapy that combines different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the needs of each individual I work with. This means treatment is customized to meet your needs. We will work together to identify and address the source of your discomfort or distress, then develop strategies to promote change that make a difference — in mood – in relationships – in life.

My clinical specialties focus on anxiety disorders, healing after trauma, PTSD, gender and sexual identity (LGBTQIA+ Affirmation therapy), and OCD. However, I have many years of experience working with a variety of mental health issues, emotional and personal challenges, psychiatric disorders, relationship struggles and more. These may include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, life transitions, college stress, coming out, and other interpersonal difficulties. I am SW-friendly and am MAP-informed.

My work experience has consisted of working with active-duty military, veterans, and individuals from many different cultural backgrounds in inpatient, outpatient, residential, community, and private practice settings.

My work within the LGBTQIA+, kink, poly, and consensual non-monogamy (CNM) communities, has provided me with in-depth knowledge of the spectrum of modern relationships and sexuality. As a member of the of the queer community, I also have personal knowledge of the challenges that may impact us just a little differently.

I believe in the potential for emotional and individual growth, striving to provide a safe and warm environment in which client can explore and thrive. I will provide you with a space where you can breathe and where healing can truly happen.

I also offer supervision services to psychological associates and pre-licensed therapists..

About "Dogtor" Tucker

Tucker is a Goldendoodle who received his Canine Good Citizen Certification in 2020. He was born in October 2019 and was graced with a quiet, calm, and sweet temperament. From a young pup, he was pretty much raised in the therapy office and has come to love and appreciate all of the humans that walk through the door, many of whom talk more to him then they do to me. While he loves toys and treats, he gets most of his joy from affection.
